Kidney Vascular Services

Serrano Kidney and Vascular Access Center (KVAC) of California provides state-of-the-art kidney and vascular services for chronic kidney disease, including kidney transplants if necessary. Chronic kidney disease includes conditions that damage your kidneys and decrease their ability to keep you healthy. If kidney disease gets worse, wastes can build to high levels in your blood and make you feel sick. You may develop complications like high blood pressure, anemia (low blood count), weak bones, poor nutritional health and nerve damage. Kidney disease increases your risk of having heart and blood vessel disease. These problems may happen slowly over a long period of time. Chronic kidney disease may be caused by diabetes, high blood pressure and other disorders. Early detection and treatment can often keep chronic kidney disease from getting worse. Dr. Feliciano Serrano M.D.

I would like to introduce myself to you and your family. My name is Feliciano Serrano M.D. and I am an ACGME Certified Physician also specialized in Nephrology (Kidney) and Endo-Vascular (Veins and Arteries) interventions whose purpose in life is to make a difference in my community, the Los Angeles, CA. basin where there are a large number of underserved families in such dire need of specialized medical care. I am a native Angelino and understand the demographic make up and inherent medical needs of my patients. I’ve been honored to receive numerous philanthropic awards and recognition for pro bono medical services rendered over the past decade. My wonderful parents always taught me to help the less fortunate around me and I have always tried to follow their lead in this regard. On a more casual note I am a true Trojan at heart and had the unique opportunity to attend both the University of Southern California obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and subsequently The USC Keck School of Medicine completing a Doctor of Medicine degree. After graduation I finished an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the White Memorial Medical Center. Throughout this experience, I stayed focus on my intention to help and contribute to the same neighborhood that shaped my views and in which I was raised. Yet despite having achieved many of my educational goals, I was not convinced that I had the necessary tools to help the sickest people in my community and thus I made the decision to specialize in kidney disease and later sub-specialized in endovascular interventions which are now my true passion. Specialized Training One of the highlights of my career was having the distinct opportunity to train in New England under Nobel Laureates and world-renowned professors. During my Kidney Fellowship I was designated to lecture at the Harvard Brigham and Women’s hospital. Concurrently I was awarded a National Institute of Health (NIH) fellowship that gave me the opportunity to study why people with kidney disease don’t live as long as people with normal functioning kidneys. This research […]...
